Sophia O'Kane
Counsellor
Sophia is a counselling therapist currently completing her research Masters in Counselling with the University of Auckland.
Sophia has extensive training and experience working alongside people seeking relief from feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, and feelings and experiences related to trauma, and those seeking a sense of identity, self-acceptance, and inner-strength.
Sophia holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double Major in Psychology and Sociology, a Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy, and has undertaken certified trainings in Polyvagal Theory, Neuro-linguistic programming, Multiple Brain Integration, and other mindfulness and breathing practices.
Sophia utilises a holistic lens to explore your experiences to form and work on goals which align with you. Sophia’s approach recognises and honours each individual, affirming your inherent wholeness, uniqueness, strengths, resources and capacity for growth and healing.
Sophia is currently with us part time as she completes her Masters research.
